Why Doodle?
The name Doodle Painting is inspired by my Golden Doodle, Murfy. (I think if a dog were going to spell his own name, he would probably spell it wrong.) Murfy and I have been inseparable for more than twelve years now. He’s smart, loyal, and more excited than any dog I’ve ever seen to go for a walk. You could say Murfy is the love of my life—but I like my wife Emily pretty well, too!
Specializing in painting and restoring the beautiful homes of Ardsley Park, Chatham Crescent, Thomas Square, The Historic District, Baldwin Park, and Midtown Savannah, Georgia.

I grew up in Wisconsin just an hour or so east of Minneapolis and came to Savannah in search of sunshine and ocean waves. I enjoy kayaking and gardening, and am a bit of a computer geek and film buff. (For all you English majors like me who are worried about how to use that degree, you can always become a painter!) I’ve lived in midtown Savannah for about six years and met Emily and her Shih-Tzu Bernie at Daffin Dog Park. Most days, you can see us on family walks in the neighborhood, the dogs always pulling us in opposite directions.
I first started painting in the 90’s, when I was tasked with renovating apartments between tenants at five very large apartment buildings. I think I painted almost every apartment in some buildings… all in white! I slowly started learning other aspects of fixing homes and later on applied that knowledge by flipping entire houses. My last flip took three years of really hard work, but I finally finished. Emily said to me one day… Why don’t you just help other people do this sort of thing? Great idea!
